AUTOBRENNT are happy to announce our next event... a very special sunset party at the Thompson Hotel, Soho, on June 26th. The action runs from 6pm until midnight and will be soundtracked by two of 2011’s most promising talents, namely Visionquest associates Footprintz and disco don Jacques Renault.
Footprintz (AKA Addy Weitzman and Maurice Knecht of Montreal) are a synth pop duo who have shot to fame this year courtesy of their Utopia EP on the famed Visionquest imprint. Hooky, nostalgic and delicate, their sound is as emotional as it comes for the dancefloor and sits somewhere between Matthew Dear and Depeche Mode. As DJs they have lit up WMC and DEMF already this year, so do not miss this chance to catch them in the US capital.
A native of NYC since 2002, Jacques Renault has made a name for himself with an expansive collection of disco-tinged house records on various labels including On The Prowl, Cabin Fever and DFA. In amongst his own productions nestle more than few cheeky edits, all of which have seen the man get booked across Europe’s finest clubs as well as events like Croatia’s Garden Festival this summer. If disco and its many sweeping variations are your style, Jacques is the man for you.
