Qzen (rhymes with Susan) is a DJ, music producer and a voice. But this is just the short story. This talented woman deserves much more than a sentence in her name. So please, let us indulge in bringing to light just how valuable this seasoned artist is – and has been – to the global dance community writ large. It all started ten years ago when Qzen first started spinning around San Francisco’s burgeoning underground scene, garnering respect for her contagious energy behind the decks and exceptionally versatile musical taste. Not one to stay still Qzen moved on to become a major force in various collectives and projects from the female-run drum & bass production collective, Groundscore to becoming the main singer for the widely successful live “electro-punk” band, The Invisibles. From there her unique vocals caught the attention of producers world-wide and Qzen continued on to spread her aural flavor across the board collaborating with luminaries like John Tejada, Claude Von Stroke and many more. You know that sultry voice in “Don’t Turn It Off” by 40 Thieves that won the world over in 2008? Yeah, that’s her.
Today Qzen currently lives in Berlin and per usual she has her hands full working on an album with 40 Thieves, producing her own material, remixes and rustling up songs with other collaborators around the world. We are very excited to present you this refreshingly unique and energetic mix by Qzen made exclusively for AUTOBRENNT. As you will hear from this set, you will agree with us when we say – this is one chic that is not afraid to take risks. BEHAVE!
