Lining up to take the AUTOBRENNT podcast baton from Tim Xavier, we’re happy to unveil rising London talent Inxec – born Chris Sylvester – as the man behind our 28th mix. Over the course of the past few years, the man has fomented a strong relationship with Jay Haze’s Contexterrior (serving up five tasty treats on the imprint) as well as with Matt Tolfrey’s Leftroom and urban outfit CityFox. Inxec’s restless tech template also carries over to his live shows and DJ sets at places like WMC, Miami and Fabric, London as well as Munich’s Harry Klein club where has been resident in the past.
As for the mix he turns in here, well, it’s a slowly evolving beast that starts deep, mournful and housey before the ante is gradually upped as it weaves through dark pockets of electronic 4/4, shadowy tech and plenty of organic sounds infused with a warm and late night glow. It’s groovy and gets you dancing, yes, but that’s not to say a story isn’t being told; one that’s alive with different emotions and which keeps your head as occupied as your heel from start to finish.
