It’s AUTOBRENNT podcast time again, and this week we turn to techno talent Barem. The Argentinian producer has a long list of production and DJ credits to his name dating back to 2005. A meeting with Riche Hawtin, though, propelled the man into the spotlight where he has remained ever since. This June just gone, Barem released his debut artist album, After the Storm, which demonstrated a crisp and percussive style of techno as well as some smooth, more introspective offerings.
As for his podcast, it’s an hour of sleek beats as only Barem could do. Starting off all groovy, it seamlessly progresses through more upright percussion, deeper, vocal flecked landscapes and some smooth late-night rollers toward the end. It’s stripped down and subtle, but still manages to engage you from start to finish.
