Though Europeans always seem to think the US scene is forever struggling to survive, it seems the truth is quite different. As well as the big name crews and labels known everywhere, there also exists a small and creatively rich pool of talent dotted across the States, none more so than here in New York. One such man is William Rauscher – you may recognise the name from writings on Resident Advisor, but you may also know it to be the person behind Night Plane, a mature musical alias exploring slo house, disco, psychedelia and more.
Thus far releases have come on labels like THISISNOTANEXIT, Four: Twenty and No. 19 Music, with Night Plane also being part of a music, art and media collective called CCC alongside DJ Harry and JM. When he’s not performing live with that trio, William is busy crafting well balanced and emotive sets like the one we have as our next podcast. It’s filled with wavy grooves, sweet vocal coos and non-standard deep house of the sort that makes perfect late afternoon or early evening listening.
